Manchester crew Virus Syndicate touch down in Leeds with the re-launch of their Work Related Illness LP on Planet Mu and their big, big new 12? On saturday night(22nd) we all took a trip upto Leeds where sheep & cows walk freely around the city !!

Mark was playing @ Technique @ Northern Light, we pulled up outside and there was a big que to get in(allways a good sign when theres a long que !!!) we got in and walked up the staires. Mark put his bag behind the dj box and then we hit the bar.

We spent about an hour checking the club out and knocking back drinks, Mark stepped on the decks @ 3:30am and murk it till 5:30am the crowd was loveing the tunes and were up for it !!!!

He played after a D&B dj who rocked it with all the big tunes so mark had to keep on that level and tempo to keep the crowd skanking. He started off abit breaky with some of his older productions and moved onto some anthems from Zic(hello / go dj) then from there he started slowly going deep and dark !!!!!

Highlights of Marks set that stood out:

When he dropped 'The Prodigy - No Good'. When he dropped this the whole place went mentle i was about to draw for my phone and ring 999 and ask for the riot police, This tune fucked up the place bad !!!! (you aint aint a shower face dj if you dont drop a prodigy tune in your 'grime set' !!!!!)

^^ THIS IS THE GUY WHO WAS GOING MENTLE RIGHT INFRONT OF THE DJ BOX,

He played the 'Crazie Titch Aing Along' accapella and then out of the blue dropped 'Wonder - What' over the top. Once again the place went sick(gunfingers !!)

ALL IN ALL IT WAS A GOOD NIGHT. MARK SMASHED THE BACK OUT OF THIS RAVE !!!!!

From what Mark was saying to us. All the tunes off the album will be his best ones to date, He played us a sneek preview of one called 'stardust' this tune was fuckin sick.

There is no album name yet or date set but as soon as we know the full details you will all will know. The album will be out on Planet Mu Records sometime in 06

Manchester's MarkOne has been causing a stir on the Grime (Dubstep/Sublow/Forward) scene since his first release on his label Contagious over two years ago. He has appeared in a handful of magazines, including Deuce, Mixmag, B&S, Touch to name but a few, and was nominated for BEST GRIME PRODUCER at the 2003 Sidewinder awards. Planet Mu Records are pleased to be releasing MarkOne's first artist album "OneWay". With this album Mark is crossing over & fusing different styles with grime like hip hop, electro & dnb, but all with that menacing bass and spacey production that is a hallmark of the MarkOne sound (a more grimey, industrial, future sound than some of his previous breaks influenced releases). Originally a Drum and Bass producer in Sheffield, he switched up styles five years ago after a lot of frustration with the drum and bass scene. When one of his early tunes was dropped at Forward, things started moving and he became accepted into the wider 'Forward' scene. Since then Mark has appeared on various compilation albums and has had releases on Polydor's P Records, Soulja, Tempa, Texture, Immunity, Hard Livin, Vehicle, Southside, A.R.M.Y, Contagious and most notably Rephlex's GRIME compilation as well as having loads of offers to work with other labels. Mark was also responsible for signing up Plasticman to Contagious as well as bringing him into Virus Syndicate. Mark has played with the Virus Syndicate (who have a show on Rinse FM) and all over the UK as well as internationally; including One Nation in Germany. Rephlex recently took MarkOne and Plasticman on tour to the US where they rocked it.

On friday August 12th Mark One & Jsd from Virus along with Plastic Man , Kiss fm's Logan Sama , Skepta & Jammer , Digital Mystikz and Messiah went to Brussels for the weekend to smash a rave @ the 'Le Gazon' GRIME NIGHT in Brussels.

It was a wicked vibe out there no trouble just good vibes, There was around 3,000 people raveing to the freshest dubplates getting dropped on sets by Mark One , Plastic Man , Logan Sama and a dark dubbed out set by Mala from Digital Mystikz

Jsd , Skepta and Jammer murked the crowd allnight long !!!!!
